A manager at a pet store who is a friend of mine directed me towards a cashier the other day. This cashier was trying to give away a female Quaker Parakeet, with large cage. She agreed to watch her for 2 weeks. That was over 2 years ago.
She described her as very loud and not friendly. I guess the bird screams at the cat, and the cat enjoys making the bird scream. Suggestions that she give away the cat were not well received.
I felt bad that I couldn't help.

Find out if they are really willing to give her away and, if they are, let me know and I see if I can get my husband to drive me up there and take her. Quakers come from my country of birth and were the very first parrot I've ever had when I was a child so they have a very special place in my heart.
