I was told to wash the rice in clear water until the water stays clear.

Good point, liz. Supposed to get rid of all that starch for us humans anyway - but i find I'm too lazy for me :lol: , perhaps i'll get into the habit by doing it for Julian.

I found some Quinoa Seeds in the supermarket today, but they were a mixture of three different Quinoa seeds - and i couldn't find the just normal quinoa seeds - do you think this would be ok, if not better? - i'v been meaning to try my hand at sprouting - so quinoa seeds sounds perfect to do this.

You can't wash the starch out of brown rice, only the white one but the white one is no good for birds because all that's left is, precisely, starch.

I buy the good quality packaged whole grain rice so I just put it under the faucet in a colander and run some water over it before I cook it - but I do this more out of habit than because I think it's necessary.
