I have a female parrotlet about 2 months old. I have an aquarium very near her cage and when I shake the fish pellets can to feed the fish she gets very excited and start to sing and become fluffy. What is the reason for this?

I can't tell you why, but what I can ell you is that she is not singing. For whateverreason noises like that, crumpling paper or plastic bags like chips come in and similar noises enrages parrotlets. They try to make themselves appear larger and the chittering is her screaming at it, she want to kill whatever is making the noise.
I do hope that the aquarium at least has a cover on it to keep her from getting in it.

Haha, yes, this seems to be a parrotlet thing. I think sometimse it is serious aggression, but other times it seems more like playing. Watch out when you brush your teeth!
