Yes, it does point to some level of trust or possibly needs, whereas the biting points to a certain level of distrust. Trust is much easier to destroy than it is to build and eventually one will win out. Their nature as a social creatures points to a need and for this reason you can't always count on trust being the reason that he flys to you.
When Kiki first came here, she first started bonding to my Lady and did not trust me, but she still flew to me and climbed around on me but she also ate me up with the amount and severity of her biting me. Now she trusts me and is also bonded to me and except for when she is hormonal during breeding season, she rarely bites and she is reducing the severity of those bites.
