Old Senegal parrot laying eggs

Postby Bart » Fri Jul 31, 2015 10:50 am

Our Senegal parrot has layed 4 eggs after having her for 35 years. We added calcium to her diet soon as we were able to obtain some. She is not as active as normal. Any Ideas is she to old will this hurt her?
Thanks

Birds are never too old to lay -it's one of the differences between mammals and avian reproductive systems. If she has had a good diet and has been kept flighted all along, there should not be any problems.
