The truth is that we manage it because we don't work outside the house.

I also manage it because I can no longer work enough to hold down a job. I do a little wood working and jewelry making on a hobby level in order to help make ends meet.

Yeah I see how u guys manage it I probably won't be able to get a demanding parrot till I'm older caus I'm still 22 and got to go to work as a exotic vet next year :D

Well then it seems to me that perhaps you should delay your decision on what bird to get for a while as you will learn a lot more about birds in the next year or two simply because you will be exposed to many different birds during this time and that will help you a lot with knowing which bird will fit better than others. Just my thought.

Hmmm, I'll be honest with you, vets and doctors don't make good parrot keepers. Their schedules are way too demanding and they are always short on time (ask their spouses and see what they tell you) which is the opposite of what a parrot needs to be happy and stress-free: unchanging routine and lots and lots of hours spent with them during the day.

Me too. I was declared physically unemployable in 1994. 2013 I was declared to have PTSD. These problems keep me home so I am with them all day.
