My mum said I can adopt another parrot but what? I was thinking of an gray but there way of my price range which is $850 at max so I thought of a caique but then u can't get those in NZ. Sun conures are too loud so it's a Quaker or Indian ringneck VS
I would say that a Quaker can be just as loud as a Sun Conure. Our Sun Conure, Velli, and our Jenday, Dac, go though brief periods of squawking, but nothing I find unreasonable.
You may want throw consideration a cockatiel in as well.
Since I can't keep up with everything in all of the different posts that I reply to and to help others that may care to make a suggestion, may I request that you post in this thread what it is that you have to offer the bird in question, as well as what you are looking for in said bird.
You dont really have to get an Aviary bird.If you get a Quaker or Indian ringneck you dont need to be home all the time you would just need someone to take care of them while your in school and give them attention.
I have a quaker, Indian ringneck, and a conure. All have very different personalities. As Wolf said, please share what your lifestyle is/ how much time you have/ what exactly you're looking for.
Yup I go to university and go out of home a lot but my parents love parrots too so the lorikeets I have right now are out basically all day I want to get a parrot that is social and not too loud I would pefer a caique but they aren't available in NZ we have to keep pets quite we also have to train our dogs to be quite other wise the neighbours will get annoyed.ive had cockatiels and buggies and lovebirds but the get scared really easily and are scared of you
The way that I see it is that both Quakers and Ringnecks need a lot of attention if they are going to bond with you as well as to remain tame. If your family will step up and give them the attention that they need and if it doesn't matter to you if they bond to another family member then you can make it work out.

Correct. But aviary species (tiels, budgies and lovies are all aviary not companion) revert very easily when not given constant attention - and, sometimes, even when they are!
