Why would you go through the hassle of being approved to foster a very social bird only to put it in the garage alone? Of course we may be misunderstanding what it is that you are intending to do, if so please correct us.

If u are putting him in the garage make sure he has heating and light and maybe a window if possible and you should spend a lot of time with him.Do u not have anywhere else to put him I would love a macaw just dont have the space for a large area for it to live.

a parrot in a closed and rarely visited room is like a dog in a kennel. I don't like that either. why would you even have it?

Thank for setting us straight on this as it now makes sense to me. Please understand that everyone was just concerned for the birds well being and your original post was not very clear on the fact that the macaw was not being separated from you all with the garage being made into a bird room.

I would love to see pictures! Wish we could turn the garage into a summer birdroom/hangout for the birds...unfortunately, we maintain our house ourselves so too many tools/fume-laden items that would be dangerous if the birds got into them. So Fajr contents himself with occasional flights in there when my Dad is working on bird-safe projects.

Do you live in a snow-free region?
