You dad coming over and spending time with her is not the same thing as you to your bird, but if she really likes him it should help her a lot.

That's good! Seeing somebody familiar and that they like goes a long way to reassuring them. But don't be offended or even surprised if she is mad at you when you come back because they go both ways: they are either ecstatic you are back and show it or they are mad because you disappeared and show it too! :lol:
