I re-homed a bird last summer.I know little about him other than he has passed thru several homes.I have been taking my time with him, talking not looking at him directly following recommendations read here in various threads. One recommendation was to give bird lots of outside time.I have a big garden room where the birds are kept and where I work.So this bird spent most of the daylight hours roaming as he wanted. He seems to be developing a relationship with my female CAG.
THE Problem:recently he has started to attack me,even up to the point where he will come up behind me at the desk and bite the back of my ankle. He will also come out from behind some pots in the room to bite my feet if I get too close to him.
Am I dealing with a hormonal bird or a territorial conflict?I have seen a video on YouTube that suggests it is a territorial issue and that I should confine the bird and time outside the cage should be a reward for good behavior. Not sure what is good behavior. If I offer a treat he ignores the treat and goes for finger and draws blood. He is not interested in toys but like to destroy the boxes that things come in.Interested in your ideas. The current situation is good for no one.
