Tongue Waggling?

Postby Saerphe » Thu Jan 14, 2016 4:26 pm

Hi, all. Just popping in to pose a brief question. Akimi's doing well - she's getting in the way of my typing right now.

Akimi likes to look at herself in the bathroom mirror occasionally, and when she does she pretty much always gets right up close to her reflection, sticks her tongue out the side of her beak and wiggles it around. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever and she looks relaxed and curious when she does this. I've seen her do the tongue waggle in other circumstances, but she does it most often when she sees her own reflection.

From what I understand, it's a friendly gesture, but I thought I'd bring it up here and see if anyone else knows what it means. :)

I think she knows the parrot in the mirror is her. She proved it to herself with the to tongue waggle.
