I swear to you guys that birds most definitely have a certain type of music they prefer!

YOU CAN'T PROVE ME WRONG!! *hufs* Well, for real, it would make perfect sense as many even less intelligent creatures than parrots have their own musical preferences.

Our Simo REALLY loves his loud, loud metal music and for chillout, smooth Jazz. Mind you, who doesn't like smooth jazz? It's really funny to hear him try and squawk / imitate the metal songs. With jazz, he sort of does his "I'm happy now." peeps. He's also partial to video game sounds, but his favorite out of them are the sounds of shooting lasery types of weapons (the pew pew - kinds). I have no doubt in my mind that he will learn to imitate that particular noise sooner than later...

Lol..thats funny.....I figure the reason that Gaugan prefers to use text sounds is becuase I always look at the phone right away, when i hear the text message sound.

Yes, that might be the reason for Gaugan to do it but it cannot be why Sweet does it because he NEVER goes to my husband so I think that, in his case, he does it because he just likes the sound of it -he seems to have preference for certain noises and he likes to repeat them until he gets tired of them or finds another one that intrigues him.

yep that makes sense, Gaugan is what i would call and intense parrot. She knows what she wants at any given time. She like excitement and to be part of it. i have had many parrots that like certain vocalizations. We once had a baby toy left at our place and was due to go back to the owner. A freind of mine was over and picked up the toy and twirled it and it made the most hideous sound. I stopped him afraid Gaugan would like that noise, but too late she made that noise then next day and still does it from time to time. No other parrot copied that sound.

I can't remember where I saw it. It could have been facebook. There was a squeaky toy and an Amazon. The man squeezed the squeaky to then squeezed the Amazon who then made the same noise.

The TV program Law and Order has an unusual into tune. There is one point in the tune that triggers the Cockatiels and they call to it every time.

Its so funny how they all are and i love all parrots, but my Gaugy, Red Belly female is just the best, she talks a lot in human sentences. She is clear on some but not all, and so I dont always know what she is saying This morning I asked hubby, Can you get me some water? and then veryclearly Gaugan said can you get me some water.....lol.....she talks quetly for most things she says so its hard to unerstand some things if if TV is on.
