Flight suit for Jenday

Postby karenkc1994 » Tue Mar 29, 2016 9:04 am

Hi all!

Is anyone familiar with the size of sun and jenday conures? I am looking into getting my jenday conure a flight suit from Avian Fashions; however, on their website, they recommend a size small for jendays and a size medium for suns. I thought these birds were the same in size? I am liking the designs of the mediums more but I'm not sure if they will be too big for him. Has anyone tried these flight suits on their sun or jendays?

I don't take my birds outside so they don't have harnesses or flightsuits but, as far as I can tell from my male jenday and female sun conure, the species are pretty much the same size.

Thank you! I was positive that the two were similar in size.
Through further research, I learned that some owners even get their Suns a small and some get their Jendays a medium... So I guess it's really a shot in the dark as to what size fits them better. I may just order two and hope for the best!

I have not looked into this site for harnesses or flight suits but I think that they are generally based on the weight of the bird as far as which size to use, so I would suggest weighing your bird to see which size might be the most appropriate for it.

The Aviator harness is weight the Flight suit is the size of the bird so you would have to measure the bird if your not sure what size to get.
