Why is he nocturnal?

I get it quiet near the birds at night so they can sleep comfortably but I do have my TV on all night in the next room from Rambo. He has adjusted to the noise and ignores it. No matter how quiet I think I am Rambo can hear me when I go to the kitchen and will tell me "nite nite !"

Yes having the Tv on will interrupt their sleep they need at least 10-12 hours of dark uninterrupted sleep at night. Also they go to bed at night not day lol.

I am thinking that the inversion of dusk and dawn is just an error and leave it alone, but yes the light especially, from your TV can be a problem for your birds sleeping. The sound as long as it is kept down very low, he will get used to and ignore that. The light is a totally different little beastie to contend with.

I might make a minor error with what I am going to say next but I think I have it right. The light from computer screens and TV is predominately in the blue light spectrum and causes birds more of a sleeping problem than a red light would. Birds use light to control their reproductive cycles and this is called being photoperiodic, You should do some research on this as it is very important for your birds welfare. Birds receive light through their eyes just the same as we do but they also see the light when they are totally blind because their skull is so thin that they have light receptors not only in their eyes but directly on the brain itself and the blue spectrum of light penetrates the skull better than many of the other wavelengths of light and that means that its effects on the internal clock controlling their reproductive cycle is more pronounced and that is in addition to the light itself keeping them fro getting a good solid nights rest.
I know that this is more in depth than you were probably expecting but I still hope that you find it useful.
