OK, Got it and some of the bonding information that I have shared will not pertain to this bird as it is 4 years of age and is an adult at present, not that this will ever change. :lol:

The mate bond is the one that we are all looking for and it is the one that can create the most problems because when the bird bonds with us as an adult it thinks of us as its mate and can become jealous and possessive of us resenting other people getting attention that it feels is rightfully belonging to it.

Since the bird is an adult it is very important that it be kept to a solar light schedule which is exactly the same as the birds outside. Full exposure to the dawn without any artificial lights, waking up as the sun comes up and then full exposure to the dusk again without artificial lights and then going to sleep as it gets dark outside.

It is important to understand the birds diet and to limit the proteins as well as the amount of fats so that the bird does not get overly hormonal. It is also important that you do not pet the birds body as that will sexually stimulate the bird.
