If the bird is doing it so regularly and often, it is bad. It means the poor thing is overly hormonal... Problem is, this behavior does not alleviate the sexual frustration and, if done too much and/or too often, it irritates their throat (it's like throwing up all the time). Too rich a diet and a human light schedule is what does it...

Lots of conures prefer fruits to veggies so start offering a variety of fruit, and also eat some where the parrot can see you. They need to be taught what is food. Then try adding veggies , also eating while the parrot does. Carrot may be good as the first veggie, most conures i have seen will eat carrot.

I would try fruits and then vegetables for your conure and I would share them with the bird by letting him watch you eating them and then he will want to try them and so you share with him, it may take many times before he actually eats a piece, or he could eat some right off. Another thing that they may do is to mash the fruit up in their beak and swallow the juices while spitting out the pulp, Patience and persistence are your friends in this endeavor.

None of my conures have been or are good leafy green eaters (cockatoos, amazons, tiels and budgies are) but they all love fruit so start with that.

Brocolli heads are really good choices for your first green, they can be fun for a conure to play with, and they do injest some of it and can build up a taste for some greens that way.
