clipping wings?

I have an untamed mynah that's too scared to be handheld would clipping the wings help tame it and teach it to step up?

Clipping causes more fear.

Move him so that his perch is at face level. They are not afraid of faces. Keep your hands down and away from him. When you have to go in his cage do not look at him and keep your hands palm down.
Bird proof a room and open the door. Parrots will automatically go to the top of the cage for security. He may want to fly which is healthy for him. If the room is bird proofed you don't have to worry.
He may put himself back in his cage when he gets tired or hungry or you may have to "scoop" him with two hands.
Never reach above his head. Preditors come from above.

There are times when clipping may prove to be beneficial , but those times are not that frequent and in most cases the clipping done is much too severe. For this reason as well as the multiple drawbacks to the birds mental, emotional and physical well being, I am of the opinion that unless there is a valid medical reason to clip a birds wings that it should not be done.

With Crowley, the current issue is that he is afraid because of being in a new environment and with people that he does not yet know and trust, I do not think that removing or limiting his primary means of escaping danger is going to reduce his fear or increase his trust in you, Rather, I think that it will intensify his level of fear and hinder the development of his trust in you. For this reason I advise against clipping his wings.

I'm really glad to hear that because I wasn't really happy with the idea of grounding him so I've decided not to clip thanks so much for the replies

Was he handfed or parent-raised? Because that makes a huge difference in both his attitude and the advice you need to tame it...
