budgiebuddy,

You don't need to apologize. It actually shows great maturity to listen to what other people have to say and make an informed decision after you learn the facts! A great thing to focus on instead of breeding might be to target train your budgie and teach him tricks. Target training takes dedication and hard work but I'm sure you could handle it. I'm proud of you! :thumbsup:

you ahve to be prepared for eggbinding in budgies, more common in budgies. make sure to supply them with PLENTLY of calcium (cuttlefish) and dont breed them more than twice in a breeding season or it will put to much strain on the females body for calcium and she could go into deficiency which is not good at all and also put her at an even more risk of egg binding. budgies will keep breeding as much as you let them but its important to not let them breed more than twice, its not fair on the female and also the quality of the chicks and there health will go down. hand rearing budgies is not really worth it in my opinion....i would let the parents rear them then you hand tame them. i dont find a difference in hand tame v hand reared in budgies.
