When are terrible twos in Senegal Parrots?

Postby Michael » Mon Jun 14, 2010 11:41 pm

I'm curious if what's typically referred to as the terrible twos are the time leading up to two years old (basically after one year and before two) or after two (between two years old and three)? I wonder if the issues I've had with Kili were the demonstration of terrible two behavior which wasn't so terrible or if it was just a preview for what's going to come after she turns two?

I understand it's not linear and is progressive, but I'm just curious what period specifically the term refers to.

I'm not quite sure myself.
Shade hasn't shown any terribly aggressive hormonal actions up to now. She's 4 years old.
What I have noticed though, is once she was around two-ish, and this happens to coincide when the other birds are also slightly more hormonal letting me to believe it is hormones following normal "breeding times", she's a bit more distant, aka doesn't want to spend as much time on me but I can easily deal with that. It doesn't last terribly long when it does hit and she normally is back to herself quite quickly.
