Plants as pest control

Postby Pajarita » Sat Sep 26, 2020 10:17 am

We all struggle finding natural, non-toxic ways of replacing chemical products and using safe plants is a great idea! I actually do this, myself - I use natural cedar mulch in my backyard to control fleas and ticks in the summer and dried eucalyptus and/or mint and/or basil under or behind sofas all year round.

You must get rid of them as soon as possible if they have already entered your house. I ignored them for a while when I saw them in the garden. But they slowly pulled into the house as well. I have to do a chemical cleaning of the whole house. And that was the craziest thing. My instruction is to choose insecticides. The effect is instant, a few hours, and you will not see them anymore. Please don't take them with your barehands. Good luck!

As far as I know, there are plants that release toxins that repel insects. But humans don't feel them. Garlic is one such plant. You may find this information helpful.

I am newbie here, and I found this discussion on plants as pest control particularly interesting. I have been using natural plants as pest control in my home for a while now, and it has worked wonders. One thing that caught my attention is the mention of wasp pest control in the linked article. I must say I never thought of that!
