Ophelia is successfully handtrained. She steps up onto me and every member of my family and allows us to take her out of her cage without jumping away before she gets out of the door. She sits on our fingers, in our hands, on arms and even on our shoulders.
She seems fine out of her cage. She walks along the floor of my room (I place her there sometimes when training) and investigates. She's walked in my living room and made a "house" out of a shelf. :P
I've even taken her outside and she never seems frightened or upset by it. (She sings out there, actually)
But lately, I've noticed that when she is taken out of her cage, she'll jump right back on it. (She wants to sit on top of it or something) Also, if she is on the floor of my room, she'll now run around (Gathering speed?) and then jump, I assume in an effort to get onto her cage.
That said, while she is in her cage she does not move. D: (Save for eating and drinking, of course) She has a "favorite perch" (I place her on different ones when putting her back in her cage and she always goes back to that one) and even seems to stand in the same place each time she goes back. I've never seen her play with her toys and her cuttlebone still looks new.
I'm a little worried she will become more and more reluctant to come out of her "house" which I'm not even sure she enjoys in the first place.
Halp? .-.
