Parrot TShirts

Postby Kathleen » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:27 pm

I bought a parrot tshirt at one point for myself. I wanted one with many different parrots on it, but the ones available were entirely too big for me. I got the only parrot shirt available at that store in the size small. The design looks like this:

There was some concern that wearing this shirt around real parrots would scare the real parrots, or cause them alarm in some way, that the real parrots would think the shirt depicted a real bird. So when I had Duke, I didn't wear this shirt around him and I would either wear it on a day when I wouldn't interact with Duke, or I'd wear a sweater over it to cover the design.

Would a real bird would mistake the design for another bird?

I don't know. I put the centerfold from BirdTalk in Noodles house and she doesn't seem to be afraid of it. She just shreds it.

I guess I will continue to cover up the design just to be cautious.
