used bird with new stupid owner

baby was given to me i know nothing about her him or it but i think shes smarter than me how do i catch up with what the bird knows? so far she steps up,comes out of her cage to me,she lets me pet her,she lowers her head so ill pet it.she makes noises like kissie noises that u would call a dog with ?? so what would u do next?? idont know how or what to do to find out what she knows

ive only had her for 4 days she loved me from the start. she was returned to the breeder for biting and bad behavior so far i havent seen any hting like that?is it normal for a bird youve never met to be so atached to me? she wants to be on me all the time?

Two possibilities here: either the previous owner was a real ahole and made a harmless well behaved bird so upset as to bite or the bird has not yet settled in and is just kind of mellow for now but you have yet to see the real self show!

a nother thing i haven seene is that when i got her when i said her name which was twity she got vary upset and would bite her toys the cage and kill the food bowl so i changed her name to baby she dosent get mad at that?? if i say a bad word she gets mad??i said the f word when the dog knocked over the mop water and she started screaching?? so now i have to watch what i say around her ??why would words bother her??

She is a rehomed parrot you say?
It could be she had a very bad experience with one of those words. Like: the birds starts screaming and the owner wanted to shut her up. He screams a bad word at her and bangs on the cage. That would totally freak her out ofcourse, and will associate that bad word with the terrifying experience.
Same thing could be with her name.
Sounds like she had a really bad owner before

Just take it easy with her. See what she does or doesnt like and just go with the flow.
Read up about training and teaching her to step up and step down.

she steps up and comes out of her cage im going to try to see if she knows targeting ive been reading about it .can i use astraw for a stick ???i cant find out what kind of treats she likes? ive triedeverything i can think of . do i leave her food in her cage all the time?

Her previous owner may have been a female, and mean at that. It has been my experience that female birds prefer men and male birds prefer women. I can only guess why.

It is absolutely not true. The bird will bond with whatever person it will spent the most time with, or whomever it just likes the most. It has nothing to do with the sexe of said person.

The only thing that does happen however is when a parrot has a bad experience with a person it will connect that experience with everyone who looks like it. So if that person was a female, the bird could have a disliking for females.
Same thing happens the other way around. If a bird has bonded strongly to a woman, or was raised in a household with only woman, it could develop a stronger liking for woman then men.
