Sometimes breeders have no choice but to sel to petstores. Lets say that I have a very very good year and all my couples have 4 beautifull healthy kids.
That would mean I would have 20+ baby birds per round. I wont be able to make them all tame at once. Maybe 10 max! That would mean the rest of the 10 chicks would be 'wild' birds meant for aviaries. Of that 10 I would probably be able to swap 3 or 4 with friends. That would leave me with 6 or 7 babies I wouldnt know what to do with.
And thats a year the market is up. This year, the market plummeted. 'Luckily' I had a lousy breeding year so I didnt have that many young. But If the birds were not sold after half a year, I would need to sell them to a petstore or a bulk buyer. I dont have that many space.
Before you'll all start saying: Then dont breed so much. You never know how much youre going to breed. I was hoping for 20 chicks the whole season (thats 10 per round). I only got 10 overall.
