I am so sorry you have to do this, I can't imagine what you have been and are going through. I have a relative that has that kind of parrot and she is absolutely wonderful. They are remarkable parrots. So tame and kind. Hers would never hurt a soul. Who ever you rehome him to is one lucky bird owner:)

Thanks.

I'm still having a little bit of hope. I put the air purifier close to the cage and I think I'm seeing an improvement. We'll see this week-end, when I'm home more. I haven't really been looking for a home for him yet.

I do hope you get to keep him... I know how much you love him! But, if the allergies are still bad after trying everything, you do what you have to do. I'm sure you'll put in the effort to find him a good home and he's a baby so it won't be traumatic for him. Good luck.

Dunno if you use air conditioning but be sure to clean the filters on it frequently cause that thing will just blow the allergies around. Similarly vacuum often and clean the filters on the vac and air purifier often. All of these air filtration purifier systems turn into air polluters if they aren't cleaned out often enough.

Good point Michael. Air conditioning is over until june or july next year around here, it's getting cold, but I'll make sure to clean the mini air-split that does the air conditioning, because I'll use it to heat for a few months, and I hadn't thought of that.

Thanks !

Thanks pchela, I do love him very much. Such a little bugger !

I certainly hope he adjusts well if I have to find a home for him, but I'll do everything I can to keep him. We're just starting to adjust our routines together, and he's fitting more and more into our lives. You know how this takes time with any new animal companion.

Adding an extra purifier might help as well.
