Well, I have no more hope. My health is deteriorating. I have to take as much as 8 times my usual asthma medication. I can't take it anymore, I have to wake up at night to take medication again to breathe.

Nothing is helping me. I have to find a nice home for him very quick.

So, if you can help me in any way, if you know someone looking for a very nice companion, someone knowledgeable about parrots, or who have done their research, feel free to give them my email and ask them to contact me. I'm willing to travel half way, even more, if the person is far away.

If this is not allowed, then just delete my email, but here it is :

Thank you. I am sad tonight.

I am so sorry. I can't even imagine. :( I wish I had words to make you feel better, but I know there aren't any.

This must have been a very hard decision for you. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Hopefully, your baby will find a wonderful new home soon and your health will improve.

I'm so sorry everything you tried didn't work. I can't imagine how difficult this decision is. I didn't realize a Brown Headed parrot generated that much dust.

I really hope you can find a good home for him.

Good luck finding her a super home!

So sorry to hear about your health issues with your bird. I was very afraid starting a family 8 years ago because I knew there was always the possiblity that my kids could be allergic to my birds and I had them since I was a teen and before I met my husband. I can't even imagine my life without any of them. Is there any family members or friends that could take the bird temporaraly to see if that does resolve the problem. Is there any chance it could be something else in the house causing the allergies? I wish I could help more and I hope you find him a loving home if it does come down to that. Kelly :amazon:

No, it is 100% certain that it is the bird. I already know I am allergic to animals, but I could tolerate my Quaker Parrot ok. I have 2 dogs, and because of them I have to take one type of medication once a day (one shot). Since I got Zoulou, I take 2 shots of 2 types of medication in the morning, 2 at night, 1 in the middle of the night, and 1 or 2 more during the day. Nothing else has changed in my house, and it is a house I've been in for 2 years. I went to 1 shot a day to 10-12 shots a day !

I don't want to agonize over this any longer than necessary. I love him but at the same time, he is harming me. You know what I mean ?

You're right, I'll wait a few days and erase it.

I'm so sorry. I know how difficult it is to give up a beloved pet. I wish I lived closer to you... I'd take him or help you find him a home. Best of luck to you.

I became allergic to my pet rats, which luckily, I had 6, so they could keep each other company, and I had to put them in the basement because I couldn't be around them for more than 5 minuets without wheezing. I just recently finally found a home for 4 of them, and kept the last 2 because they needed extra medical care, daily feedings of soft foods, and wipe downs with a damp cloth because they were too old to clean themselves.

I understand how hard it is to be that allergic to pets. I wanted to spend time with them, but I really, just, couldn't. I'll die if I ever become that allergic to my bird, since she is so much more attached than the rats.
