Every bird deals with being boarded/moving to a different location temporarily differently.
I was lucky with Merlin (our grey), in the fact that I worked for 5 years at a large pet store, hence once he was a year old, I brought him to work with me, so moving/car rides/carriers were no problem and he has no problem with the change, or weekends away at the in-laws.
Rosco & Stryder, our other two are not quite as well-travelled, but as long as I have some treats (veggies/fruit - something with natural water in it) to munch on in their carriers, they're not too bad. I usually hear them talking from their carriers

.
I think as you purchased Akilah from a store, she'll probably remember the experience and hopefully the sounds of other birds will be welcoming for her. And no worries - she'll remember you! They always do

.
Ours eat and play less when they "know" we're away, but still keep up their chatter.
Oh, and I don't know why or where I got this from, but it works - I always back them into their carriers. For example, I put Merlin into his carrier tail first, and put my hand right above his head so he doesn't pop it up. It works with Rosco (Caique) & Stryder (white-faced Cockatiel) too

Have a fun and exciting trip, and know that Akilah won't be all alone while you're away. I'm sure you'll be excited to pick her up as soon as you're home!
When you return, I do recommend short car rides once in a while, to let Akilah know that going in the carrier & the car isn't always a bad thing (aka you leaving her or going to the vet), but can be fun. And it gives you an excuse for some really bad car singing to make her feel comfortable
