Similar thing happened to me... My budgies' previous owner sent a Facebook message to my Mom and said "I'd be happy to take them back if they're too much trouble... I'll miss them..." etcetera. Like hell. No way I'm letting her put them back in the closet again. I'd rather send them to another home (which may still happen) than send them back to her. >:(
