I am hoping to draw on your collective wisdom.
We have an 18-month old Jardine's (male) who is boisterous and a bit territorial. We've recently adopted a 10-yr old Alexandrine parakeet (female) from an unknown but seemingly pretty positive situation (she doesn't seem traumatized). Does anyone have thoughts on how best to accomplish the goal of having them both out without killing each other? (Kili and Truman have a more dramatic size discrepancy and The Wiz seems to have managed it!) When they are out together, Kalki, the Jardine's, who is a much more accomplished flier, will eventually make an aggressive beeline for Suzy, the Alexandrine, who will skittishly fly off and land on one of us. She's not hand tamed, so that adds another layer of challenge.
My fear is that the generally easy going but somewhat timid Suzy will be pushed to her limit by Kalki's cocky territoriality, and that he'll lose a toe or worse. Suzy has a heck of a big red beak!
