I assume it's luuurve in the air!

Hi there,

Well as you know we got our Senegal, Sazu (10 months old), home this monday. He's been doing extremely well and is stepping up already and knows targeting. However, what they say about Senegals and being a one mans bird is so very true. My fiance Richard has been saying good morning to him before he has left for work, and said hi as he came back home. I've been the one doing all the training, feeding and generally spending time with Sazu since he came here.

Now here is the laugh... guess who he has been head bobbing to, called for, and want to be pet by.. My beloved bird has clearly made his choice, and today it got very apparent! We are not sure, but this sure must be the ultimate "I LOVE YOU" show he is putting on? (Sorry for the bad vid, but didnt want to stop or interupt him to be able to show it)

I am very pleased however, that he does not seem to mind me handling him at all, so hopefully that will not be a problem in the future either :)

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Senegal and their normal behaviour...but I can't tell if hes doing a dance or showing off?

I'm more accustomed to the GCC dance...Jack puffs him self up, stands REAL straight, and struts back and forth, back and forth while doing with weird slow-motion thing with his head.
Wild animals are called 'wild' for a reason. Keep them that way. Adopt your pets, or buy them from a certified breeder.

I would not describe what he is doing as a strut - more like a courting dance. He lowers his wings and makes a very soft chatter, as he moves around with a mix of head bobbing and actually stroking the back of his neck against Richard fingers. Looks really cute and loving :)

Is that mating type dance??? I know what the Tiel dance looks like, but couldn't find any videos of a GCC dance, our YS GCC does that slow motion head dipping, and stands up really really tall. He also shows off majorly for people, playing and doing flips, so very cute.
