Rainbow has been hormonal for quite a while now. She likes to back up to my jeans and shoes. It does not seem extreme. Just once a day. She makes awful noises. Myrtle copies Rainbow's noises.

Myrtle just showed hormonal a few minutes again. She only lets me touch her head when she is hormonal. She is cuddled up to my neck and putting her head down for me.

Rainbow is 32 and been around long enough to know things. He knows the package of his favorite foods. I was shocked when he saw a box of crackers and started asking for them.

Jake, the Boxer in the back yard, is old and really does not want to be bothered with dry food. He gets a Tony's pizza and a can of food every evening. Rainbow starts begging as soon as he sees the package. I scrape the toppings back and cut a small corner for each of them. I can't leave the pizza on the counter to cool or Myrtle will pick toppings off.

Liz, pizza as a meal for an old dog?! That doesn't sound very wise, my dear.

Jake is an old Boxer. He stopped eating dry food and then cut back on canned food. He likes pizza so I give it to him.

He has a dogloo and a barn but we had a few cold nights and put him in the master bathroom and waited until it was 50 degrees to put him back out.

Liz, if white flour and preservatives are for young dogs, imagine how bad they are for old ones! The reason why my animals live to unusually old age is that they eat what nature meant for them to eat. Try making him some brown rice with ground beef and add some grated carrots to it - I am sure he would love that and it's healthy for him.

I will try.

I went in the kitchen yesterday and saw Rainbow standing on a bottom drawer and in the process of pulling out the next drawer. He was trying to climb to the counter.

Jackie kissed me yesterday. My face and not my hands were visible. Tommy has always given me kisses and she has been watching. Phoenix has been watching Jackie and Tommy. He may be the next one to give kisses.

Phoenix has been flying about one inch off the floor. He is so proud of himself. I need to trim his other wing for balance but don't want to upset him.

Gimpy lets me get about an inch away and talks to me in birdy talk. He is so sweet.

I bet the drawers looked like nice dark cavities to Rainbow, too! They are all beginning to look for nesting spots...

Tiels are the best! I do miss having some...

I have boxes for Rainbow in every room she likes. She was trying to get to the counter.

Myrtle has been opening cabinets and getting in. None of my paper plates are round anymore. I always put the top plate back for the next time she does it. If the door closes behind her she will knock on the inside until I get her out. I put a hair tie on the nobs of the goody cabinet. I can't do that with the dish cabinet. It is off set from the others.
