Like a child, I hope she grows out of it. She allows me to "help" Rambo by picking him up and putting him where he wants to go. He climbs in my bed and she allows him to make contact with me as long as I am not touching him. She allows Rambo to touch me and walk all over me as long as I do not touch him.

Ahhh, but that is because Rambo is a flock mate while the dog was not -and, besides, she is only OK with it if you don't touch Rambo but you were touching the dog.

But she claims Jasmine as her dog. That is why I was so surprised.

I am about to put Tweet out of my misery. She has had 5 nests now. The 4th nest she hatched a baby and kicked it out of the nest. I showed Jackie and she sat on it to keep it warm but I guess it was too weak and she gave up on it. She has been on a 5th nest. I went in and heard a baby crying behind the door. Retarded Tweet was sitting on a nest of egg shells and had kicked a baby out of the nest again.
I took it to Jackie who brought up some food and fed it while it was still in my hand. Tommy came over to see the baby and was clucking to it. I left it in an open box so they could all see it. The flock feeds babies when they come out of the nest. I hope this flock will take care of it. So far it is just Jackie and Tommy who are not a mated pair. Jackie's Max got away the night I got here. Shadow claimed Tommy's mate when his Sweetie died. They are both single but may work together since they have both had babies.
If I find Tweet on another nest I will swop out the eggs right away before I can see if they have life. I still don't know who she mated with. I did find Flutter on Lacy after she lost Cagney. Cagney and Lacy had not been mating. Flutter is just a hound.

Any body remember the TV show Peyton Place?

Even with Jackie feeding him he died about ten minutes ago. There must be something defective of Tweets babies. I can't take anymore of this.

Liz, you need to stop allowing your birds to incubate eggs. I know that you were doing it thinking it might be the solution to her chronic laying but it never does.

I can't take what she is putting me through. She is the only one nesting and I don't know why she does when non of the others are trying to. I need to block behind the door where she had most of her nests. I just cannot allow her to do it again. She is loosing too much calcium to the eggs and does not take time away from the nests to chew on her mineral squares.
Do they make birdie panties? If they do I would put a pair on Flutter to protect the girls from his random sex.

I've never heard of bird panties but, even if you could put one on her, it would not really change anything because she would still be producing the hormones. What I would do is separate her from the others and put her in a place where you can control light and diet better so as to make her days shorter and to reduce her protein intake as well as give her some liquid calcium in her water. I can well imagine the stress you are under... with the worry of finding still another egg.

I forget if I've mentioned this in a thread that you read, Liz... light regulation was the ONLY thing that helped me with my little rooster. Ever since the Rickeybird hit sexual maturity at about 3 years of age, I've had to manage his hormones! If kept on too steady a long day, and too much light, he stayed "in the mood" (aggressive, even louder than usual, pleasuring himself on my neck ) year round. If I keep him on a natural light schedule... up with dawn, down with dusk, year around... he's only a little monster rooster QUAGMIRE from July to September). He has his own room, so I can do that easily.
