Seriously I JUST accepted a 3 year old untame female pied lutino on April 29th. I have made remarkable progress but have very realistic expectations and I accepted she may never "accept" me.

Here is what I did. I had her clipped and groomed right away. I kept her in a smaller/portable cage for 10 days. I carried her around everywhere, all over the house. Even my room at night. I spoke to her all the time. In those 10 days she only had 1 toy, and my fingers only gave treats. She was SUPER curious about me, and wanted out when I finally let her out. She would whistle, chirp, return calls, and seemed to sincerely love my company. I then moved her to her real cage and put in all her toys, careful to leave out anything that could be a nest.

She now lets me take her out ( won't step up) and will hang out in my shirt, on my shoulder, or on my head. Still doesn't trust my fingers.

She is a very happy girl, a true delight to live with. She isn't loud, doesn't scream.

Wow - you're kidding? That is awesome! Was she a biter? When you say groomed is that something you did yourself?

Heck YES she is a biter! She is fierce. Ouch!

I took her to a bird store that offers grooming :)
