I didn't get THAT lovebird but...

Postby HeatherFeather » Mon May 16, 2011 11:29 pm

I did get THIS one!

Basically after weighing the pros and cons, and then stumbling upon this lady's ad and falling in love, I decided to go with a a freshly weaned, sweet and local little girl! (I haven't forgotten about the 'let babies. I do still want to get the parrotlet when the time comes though, gosh I'm so bad already!)

Woohoo! :swaying: She is such a joy! She's been very pleasantly sitting on my shoulders (or flying from head to head) and I did get pooped on twice - I'm about to take a shower - but she's a darling!

Here are a couple I snagged from the ad and a couple I've just taken myself. Ignore my bad hair day.

Hahaha, I love it, candy or wedding decor! I agree though she is terribly cute. I loved her coloring from the getgo and I definitely wanted a "velcro baby" as the breeder put it.

Her name was/is Midget, and I am at a loss for something better.. I'm open to suggestions of course! She may just end up staying Midget, I'm terrible at naming my pets lately. (My take on the name is that it's a cute name, but I dunno if it's her.)

I guess she says "Pretty bird" and does the whistle - you know the "Hey there, hot stuff" whistle. I've been repeating "Pretty bird" a million times in the hopes she will do it!

She's been great with everyone so far! She loves to fly from head to head and is definitely a people bird. Loves the shoulder or neck/chin or head at all times. She doesn't go back into her cage willingly at all lol. Silly little lovie!

Yes only twice and none earlier today! We'll see how she does later tonight.

I find the more I say something, the more Cheney Bird refuses to say it. I know for certain he says "hey baby" but he only does it if I'm in the kitchen and he can hear me but can't see me or if I'm at the desk and he wants me to play with him. He does say "stop it" sometimes, but still.. not if I want him to!

Good luck with the name and getting her to talk!

She is soo cute! Lovebirds are the best :swaying: !!
She was not quite what you would call refined. She was not quite what you would call unrefined. She was the kind of person that keeps a parrot.
