Neck Movement In Alexandrine Parrot

Postby APPK1234 » Thu Jun 16, 2011 1:55 am

Hi, What does the neck movement in Alexandrine Parrot mean. He dilates his eye pupils, and almost swings / snakes his neck with little mumble type sounds. What does this mean?

Most likely excitement. However, whether it's happy excitement or aggression depends on context.

When they mate, they do a head snaking movement. How old and what sex is your bird? What you are describing almost sounds like the female mating behavior. Here's a good video for you to compare. Hope it helps. :irn:

Haha, no doubt! Especially since the "cloacal kiss" only takes seconds, these two were really making love. Reminds me of that old Clarence Carter song "Strokin'" LOL He knows it will be a year before he can do it again. :)
