Good potential talker and quiet are mutually exclusive. You're gonna have to pick one or the other.

Well, not necessarily. Eclectus are very good talkers and i would say relatively quiet. They are not good for apartment dwellers because even though they usually don't scream a lot, when they do, your ears hurt!

I would say my Ekkie is quieter than the Quaker I used to have, and probably a cockatiel.

They love human companionship, even though the petting on the head is not a big winner with them. Jazz will fly to me when I watch a movie and stay on my shoulder for the whole duration, happily watching tv and grinding his beak.

I wouldn't say Jazz is very playful, he is more the quiet type, when he is not busy chatting away. He likes to walk around on the floor a lot.

He is cuddly to me, meaning he likes to be kissed, and will kiss back, he will stick his face to my cheek and gently rub his beak, but petting with the hands is not his thing. He is independant enough, but like I said before he will get any occasion he gets to watch a movie with me, just sitting on my shoulder. For hours at a time, and without pooping on me by the way... If I go sit at the computer, he follows me and stays on his playgym the whole time. If I leave, he leaves.

Ekkies like to be with their people, but it doesn!t have to be direct interaction necessarily. They're happy just being near you.

If you really want a playful parrot, I don't think they fit the description.

Speaking of talking capes, how's Truman's speaking coming along? Any new words lately, Michael?
