Why buy books when you have the internet with a multitude of sites dedicated to parrots and their keeping?
I have in the past bought books on fish, rabbits, budgies - all very basic information and were quite costly for what I got. Now I dont bother, just get on computer and search. It is more "real" cos many sites include peoples experiences with their bird.
Budgies - Harry and Billy
Cinn GCC - Bailey
Blue Quaker - Malakai (Kai)
Cockatiel - Rhyly

Barbara heinreich(sp?)'s books are considered very, very good.

Also, I suggest you buy 'The Practical Pionus' by Russ Shade. Apparently not only is it the best book about the Pionus, it deals with many wild and captive parrot behaviours that will help with any parrot ownership.

However, I've also had to wade through a whole bunch of useless coffee table parrot books that did nothing but "parrot" other books to me, basically. It's unfortunate that such books are allowed to be published, and even more unfortunate that they sell.

Regardless, does anyone have any additional suggestions for books?

Hi I have a book form buggies to Mc Caws the parrot companioN THAT I THINK ITS A GOOD OVERVIEW OF PARROT CARE and choosing a parrot appoppraite for your lifestle and circumstances.

I also read parrot problem solver, which is a general gide to parrot behaviour. I also enjoyed parrots for dummies.

One of my favourate bird books ever is called know your pet bird by David Anderton. It has many diffent species in it and i loved it when i was 14 it is partly why i became more interested in bugies.

The book was written in the early 90's so some information maybe out of date now but i still like this tile.

Yes I rather enjoyed Parrots for Dummies. I'll look into those other books that were mentioned as well. Thanks.
