I just can't believe that someone who would actully do this! I heard that a human's saliva can kill a bird! She chews the food and the African Grey eats it out of her mouth. The food can be poisonous its self. Here see for your self:

And who knows, she could get sick by doing that.
Should I be disgusted by this?

She's going to kill it..... That is VERY unhealthy FIRST of all! Second of all the Humans saliva can be "toxic" to other animals because like all animals their saliva does different things. Are saliva is made to break down food for our bodies. In order to do so our tongue puts out a liquip/chemical that breaks down things that go into our mouths'. There for it's "toxic" Like when a dog bites a frog or a lizard. You see their mouth start to foam up because what's on the outside of some lizard and frogs is basically there "protection" But for us it's the opposite way around. I think this is true but still it's "TOXIC" to birds and VERY UNHEALTHY. NEVER DO THIS I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TO STRESS THIS! It makes me nervouse when I see people do this because I know they might not be hurting themselves but they don't even know they're hurting the bird and posibly risking its life. :?

I totally agree! I think she has done no research about birds. Plus, I think the bird's beak has not been washed or cleaned. There's probably germs that's hurtful to humans.

I have let my Meyers parrot take food from my mouth regularly for eight years and she has never been sick. It's neither disgusting nor very dangerous. Sure we humans have lots of bacteria in our mouths, but it's not going to kill them.

Ya sure said a mouthful....no pun intended.

That was MY first thought as well. After nibblin' & peckin' on Lord knows what in their cage (and sometimes that may include their own, or even other birds, poop), just imagine the amount of bacteria that's swarmin' around that bird's beak. I shudder at the thought of it goin' into someone's mouth.

The danger of OUR bacteria hurting the birds is much much higher than the other way around... Don't get all worked up on birdie germs when the saliva from our mouth can actually kill birds.
