I hope that this works out for the bird. I can't imagine why she thinks she should get any money at all for this poor bird. She should be happy just to get it a loving home. This bird really needs help.

Do you have the means to get it to an Avian Vet? Do you have the funds to cover the expenses for the Vet bill? Do you have any idea what you will do to quarantine this Grey? Does this person have other birds? Just curious. I'd hate to think that she has more that are living in the same condition, but because they aren't featherless she keeps those. If she has no other birds and you don't have a way to properly quarantine the bird at your house, then perhaps you can work a deal with her to keep the bird for the quarantine period AFTER you get the Vet to run the appropriate tests. Once the results of the tests have come back, and you know what you are up against with this bird's health, then you talk to the Vet about the length of the quarantine period. Just make sure that you get everything in writing before you do something like that.

I just want to bring up some points that you may want to consider before taking on this new Grey. Also, your father made you give up the dog. That concerns me a bit. I wonder at what point he will tire of the birds and force you to give them up too. One bird is noisy, but two can get a bit much for a non-animal lover. Just be careful, take your time with this decision. I know you want to save this bird, but you also must look at the whole picture and not just the immediate need. There may be other ways to help besides taking the bird into your home.

if she decides to sell me the bird im gonna set up an appointment with my avian vet. after that the bird will be quarinted in a room upstairs. the lady only has the one bird. i already talked to my dad and he wont be seeing the birds (unless i bring them upstairs) so there isnt any reason for him to get rid of them and honestly if he tried id tell him to leave lol.
