I do have a green cheek and he is a little clown. We got him from a big box pet store, so it took a little while for him to warm up to us, but now he is just great. When we are sitting on the couch in the evening and eating a snack, whatever he wants....well he just takes. One time my wife was eating ice cream (which is one of Ollies favorite treats) and he just hopped on to the rim of the bowl and did a on honest to goodness face plant right in the ice cream. We had to wipe his little beak off and everything. He says "Hello" and "I love you" and he always wants to be wherever my wife is. She often comes out of the bathroom to find him pacing on the floor in front of the door.
I think that you will have a great time with your new family member, just remember to give him as much attention in 5 or 10 years as you will give him in the first week. To quote my wife "he will melt your heart on a daily basis!" I wish you the best of luck.
Also, our gren cheek spends atleast 50% of the time he is in his cage upside down and walking around on the cieling, we are unsure why he does this, but it is cute. Also, ours does what is commonly called the conure grunt, it really sounds like a quacking duck. I thought something was wrong until I researched it...he really does sound like a duck!
