Setting a parakeet free

Postby fv.elements » Tue Oct 11, 2011 3:58 pm

HI

I just bought a pair of parakeets two days back.
I want to set them free.

What is the best way to set them free,so that they can enjoy their natural life?

-thanks

No, don't do that. They'll die. If not torn apart by a cat or hawk, they'll surely starve to death. That is the most cruel thing you could possibly do. If you don't want them, please return them to the store, a rescue, or find someone that actually wants to take care of them and keep them safe.

Please do NOT set them free. They will die because they have no survival skills. Those Budgies you bought were born and raised in captivity and have no idea how to look for food, build nests, etc.

Also, Budgies in the wild live in HUGE flocks of thousands. If you let your two out, they have nowhere to belong to. They will die within a week, please do not set them free.

A hawk will have them within an hour...literally. Please give them to someone who wants them.

In the wild, parakeets need to be with hundreds of other parakeets as protection from predators. If they are not they will die. Your parakeets don't even understand how to find food for themselves, let alone watch out and evade hawks. Please don't murder your parakeets.
