Birds love attention, especially loud, emotional attention. Yelling at your bird won't help because it knows that if it bites you, it will get a big reaction.
I think the best thing is to trick train him, give him chew toys to destroy (because all birds have a need to chew, in order to wear down the continual beak growth, and maybe his is not being satisfied) and get better at reading his body language so you know when he will start to bite you and do not let him do it. If he loves being with you, I think the best thing to do when he nibbles/bites is to put him down and leave the room. He will learn that when he bites you go away and if he likes you he won't like seeing you leave. However if he is biting because it is his way of saying he's done playing or wants you to put him down, that strategy won't work - he'll start doing it more because he knows it will make you go away.
