So today is my new 2 year old sun conures day at home

hes a very sweet bird but a bit territorial. i brought him in the shower with me earlier and i honestly think he HATED it. when I tried to take him back out of his cage after the shower he tore up my finger and made it bleed. maybe i shouldn't have taken him in there at all on his first day? he still seems a bit nervous so should i just leave him alone or just refrain from touching him? oh and he really wanted to be near my female sun conure badly but shes only interested in being near me. he even flew on top of her cage but i took him off quickly. now he doesn't seem so interested in her anymore??? any tips on taking care of him?

tame or not tame the first day should be in the cage if untamed and open doors in a room with the door closed and no harmful items if tame that way it explores on its own, think u should know that considering you already have a bird? not a smart idea at all, now you have to gain the birds trust back
