night frights??

Do all birds have night frights?
Echo just had a massive freak out, and a fright is the only way I can describe it.

Yes, some birds do have night frights. My cockatiel had one recently but since then, he has been ok. The best way to prevent your Senegal parrot from having night frights is to plug in a night light next to the cage he/she sleeps in. This means that they can see slightly because of the light so they wont get frightened.

See that's the weird thing, the TV was on and he was uncovered. Its the first time this has happened and was really scary. I was finally able to get him out of the cage and snuggled him to me until he stopped shaking and he was making the most pitiful little whistles, almost like he was telling me what scared him. It was awful

Ok, so it sounds more serious than I first thought. I think it may be that he was having a fit? I don't know to be honest, I really hope someone with more knowledge on this matter can helps you. The best thing I recommend is going to the vet ASAP.

Maybe the dog scared him? Cuz right before it happened our dog went over there on the way to eat.

If his cage is near the window, he could have seen an owl or something outside. That's my best guess. Poor little thing!

he should be fine just spend a little more time with him the next few days and act more positively... is he acting weird when u turn on the tv now? or when he sees the dog? try to find the cause but hope hes doing good

Mine don't have night fright. I guess because there are so many tiels together that they always think they are safe.

One night Myrtle did not want to got to her bed. Nothing I did made her stay off me and go to her bed. She slepted snugged in against my neck that night. It hasn't happened again and I don't know why it happened then.

He's been fine all day, he's fine around the dog and fine when I turn the TV on. as I type this he's in his cage playing with his bell toy. Perfectly fine. Idk what it was.

Not sure if that's night fright or nightmare or something else, but my grey Spencer had actually dropped from his perch while sleeping once, he went into total panic but clam down quickly when I slightly uncovered his cage, and talked to him. He gone back to his perch to sleep after maybe 10 mins.
