Parrot attitude problem, haha

Postby paper_lantern » Sun Dec 25, 2011 8:38 pm

Furbie is the sweetest Green Cheek ever. He never really went through a "nippy" phase. He bit me a few times when I first got him, but after he got settled in he was fine.

This parrot goes to EVERYONE. My friend, who he had never met before came over and he just flew right to her. Now, whats weird is today my partner and my best friend came over, he has spent a lot of time with both of them and he does love them.

But today, he wouldn't let them touch him, he would latch onto their fingers with his beak and wouldn't let go.

Could he be just having a bad day? He also has a lot of pin feathers coming in, could this be making him moody?

He even got a bit nippy with me today, and he hasn't done that since the first week I've had him.

When he bit me and my partner I put him back in his cage and ignored him for a little while. Is this what I should do?

How old is he?

Could be. I wouldn't rush to judge attitude by a single day.

my gcc is the same way when he gets pin feathers i try to preen him as much as he will allow to make him feel better they seem to bother him more than my dc.he used to bite when he didn`t think i gave him enough attention while on my shoulder since he`s flighted i just shoved him off lightly and allowed him to come right back until he did it again he quickly figured out what not to do if he wanted to stay that includes pooping

I am cranky this morning. I have a headack. Give your bird the benefit of the doubt. Comfort him as best you can. Maybe he is having an ugly day. Tell him he is pretty.

I hope nobody took my post the wrong way, when I said "attitude problem" I was entirely joking. I love him no matter what and even if he would become a biting machine with wings I would still love him. =P

I'm guessing it must be the pin feathers, I have a family member with a green cheek and he told me that his does the same thing when he has a lot of pin feathers.

We know you love him or you would not be concerned enough to ask if it was something normal or something that you had to deal with. You were not taken the wrong way.

I am having a little trouble with Rambo and waiting for someone to answer. We all need each other and love our birds or we would not be here.
