Ha... My dad and my brother are playing targeting, touching beak, and touching foot with Spencer. Guess I don't have to worry about Spencer plucking his feather, but instead pluck my finger when I get home... LOL

I told you they would bond to him. They had no choice. Spencer did it.

I got discharged from hospital today, and as soon as I got home, Spencer offered his beak for me to touch! Now I am happy!

That is wonderful. Because you were gone Spencer is now socialized.

How are you doing?

That's true, now Spencer will do tricks that he knows with my brother and dad. He would also call them instead of just me.

Thanks for asking. I am doing fine, except my foot. of course. Now I understand how helpless disables feel. The simplest daily task become daily hurdle. Things you never think about become the biggest challenge of the day such as that 2 story stair cases I need to go through every day.

The funny thing is that it takes a few weeks to become good at using crutches, but by then I would need to learn to use them another way for a new phase of therapy (put partial wight on my left foot), takes another few weeks practice, by then I would need to learn to walk without them. Now I am thinking just don't move around unless I have to...

In a couple weeks you could loose muscle. It may be hard to walk but exercise in bed to keep your parts in shape.

In basic training I was hospitalized for 3 days and not aloud to touch the floor. When I was let up it took me about a half hour to get my legs right. My muscles got weak that fast.

Thanks for the reminder. Only after a couple of days of operation, some joints were already become not flexible, and needed therapy to move them again. I guess things would be much worse after 6 weeks. I guess I should keep working out with what I can, and move about whenever possible. After all, I want to get back on my Ducati ASAP!

HI macbrush. Your accident was a few months ago. I am hoping that you are healed and that Spencer has acclimated well to your home. I live in Hong Kong too and have just lost my Senegal after 14 years. I guess I am wondering if you ever found a parrot group in Hong Kong (I am not a Cantonese speaker, unfortunately) that turned out to be a good resource.

I plan to purchase another parrot, most likely another Senegal, but I do not know who to trust when it comes to hand-fed baby parrots. Any thoughts, other than the bird market, would be helpful.

BTW, are you familiar with the Tai Wai Exotics Animal Hospital? Dr. Zoltan Szabo is an avian expert....Although I live very far from there, I would only trust him and his team with a parrot.

All the best.
