how do you deal with all the poops while cuddling the bird

Then deal with it. I agree with Micheal, they are going to poop every 10-20 minutes or so, depending on the size of the parrot. Maxx my GCC comes out AFTER poops, if he is not on his playgym he is set down every 20 minutes or so, HE knows when he poops he can come back out to be on me. They figure it out.

Yes. That is true. Sometimes I just let the poops happen on my shoulder because we are both just to happy and comfortable on the couch.

I have become quite good at catching her before she goes though and don't get pooped on much anymore if I am being diligent about putting her on top of her cage every 15 minutes.

I bought an egg crate, lined it with paper and put a rope perch over it. It's light and easy to carry, and it's very convinient when i go to someone else's home. About every 20 minutes I put Ace on it and she does her business. It's not foolproof but it works.
