I would suggest looking up videos of CAG mating dances and comparing it to what yours does. She could have been wild-caught as a young chick before she was fully weaned. Keep in mind, the larger the bird, the longer it takes for them to wean. African greys are one of the bigger birds kept as pets. I think some big macaws wean as long as 16 months after hatching!

I have heard that too. Bird mills and some breeders don't really care about the animal, they're just out to make a profit. The sooner they can wean the chick, the faster they can make a sale. I'm actually a fan of allowing birds to be parent-fed because then they learn how to be a bird from their parents and they have less psychological problems. Parent-fed birds handled and tamed by the breeders are just as wonderful - if not more so - than hand-fed birds. I think this is called "co-parenting".
