Different bird species go through different molting types/times. In my experience a green cheek's major molt is around early spring - although one of my birds tends to molt a few months earlier than the other. Your bird should molt enough of his/her primaries to regain flight in one season (if none break).

Maxx my Yellow Sided GCC was severely clipped when I got him at 11 weeks. He is now 10 months old, and his flight feather are finally growing in. His first molt at 6 months produced no flights. They are growing in very slow. I can see the new feathers, it is just taking awhile for them to grow, and the old clipped feather to fall out and the new ones to replace them.
