Feeling kind of guilty.. :-(

Postby paper_lantern » Sat Feb 25, 2012 3:09 am

I'm probably going to sound completely crazy for saying this, but I can't sleep right now because I feel guilty. I have a conference I have to go to soon, I will be leaving next Thursday and coming back Sunday evening. I rarely (actually this is my first time) go away like this. As I live with my mother she will be taking care of Furbie. They love each other and she has no problem playing with him, feeding him, cleaning his cage, etc.

I just feel so guilty leaving him, I've had him for about 5 months now and I haven't been away from him for a night yet. Do you think he will still remember me when I get home?

Lol, I'm sorry if I sound irrational.

I hate leaving my pets, even for 1 night but you go an enjoy yourself. Furbie will still remember you when you get back :)

Of course he will remember you.

Have you ever seen dogs that greet their masters at the door when they get home? Quadruple that for a bird.

When I leave mine for a few days - Rambo greets me at the door with the dogs and Myrtle lands on my shoulder before I even get the door closed. While the dogs are barking Myrtle and Rambo try to tell me everything that happened while I was gone.

Kili and Truman go bonkers for me when I return home from a long trip or even just a short weekend.

I had to leave Truman home alone for an extended weekend just shortly after getting him. Was not a problem.
